I FIND I Fish one of the more palatable
fishing programs on TV.Although I?d much prefer to eat thescaly little blighters than sit around waitingfor them to be caught, presentersPaul Worsteling and Lee Raynor makethe exercise seem like a heap of fun.Sure, they?re mad fishing enthusiastswho live and breathe the recreationalside of the sport.Worsteling in fact was a trainee at theshop he now owns, and they seem tobe great mates.Their great skillis how green theyare in front of the camera. The pair make mistakes, only smallones, and chat to their guests andguides like they?re old mates.Shows such as this often manage to getbogged down in the detail, whether it?sET?s advertorials for destinations orother show?s concentration on the mosttechnical of products.Worsteling and Raynor seem to bask inthe sun and just enjoy what they?redoing wherever they?re doing it.We are given 30 minutes of highlightsfrom 10 arduous hours on the water, but Worsteling and Raynor come cleanon that front.Something tells me they enjoy the wait.Best of all, they leave out the tackycatchphrases likeRex Hunt?s,whose ?YibbidaYibbida? Porky Pig rip-off is like a scalerto my tolerance levels.Worsteling and Raynor were co-hostswith Hunt before landing I Fish. They don?t kiss the fish but they do letthem go.This show is directed at beginners andfanatics. It?s done on the cheap but is naturaland honest in the vein of FishingAustralia. And you can?t ask for more than that.?
