No Kiss But Show's A Good Catch

I FIND I Fish one of the more palatable

fishing programs on TV.

Although I?d much prefer to eat the

scaly little blighters than sit around waiting

for them to be caught, presenters

Paul Worsteling and Lee Raynor make

the exercise seem like a heap of fun.

Sure, they?re mad fishing enthusiasts

who live and breathe the recreational

side of the sport.

Worsteling in fact was a trainee at the

shop he now owns, and they seem to

be great mates.

Their great skill

is how green they

are in front of the camera.

The pair make mistakes, only small

ones, and chat to their guests and

guides like they?re old mates.

Shows such as this often manage to get

bogged down in the detail, whether it?s

ET?s advertorials for destinations or

other show?s concentration on the most

technical of products.

Worsteling and Raynor seem to bask in

the sun and just enjoy what they?re

doing wherever they?re doing it.

We are given 30 minutes of highlights

from 10 arduous hours on the water,

but Worsteling and Raynor come clean

on that front.

Something tells me they enjoy the wait.

Best of all, they leave out the tacky

catchphrases like

Rex Hunt?s,

whose ?Yibbida

Yibbida? Porky Pig rip-off is like a scaler

to my tolerance levels.

Worsteling and Raynor were co-hosts

with Hunt before landing I Fish.

They don?t kiss the fish but they do let

them go.

This show is directed at beginners and

fanatics.

It?s done on the cheap but is natural

and honest in the vein of Fishing

Australia.

And you can?t ask for more than that.
