Katherine Zohrab

VERSATILE is an understatement when it comes to sport and Katherine Zohrab. Only 12, she has made HRIS athletics teams many times, being selected for shot put, discus, 100m sprint, 200m sprint, high jump and long jump. She has also represented at this level for swimming. Her specialty, however, is shot put, and she has twice competed at a national level. She also plays basketball and netball, captaining the BTAC netball team to second place at HRIS. Katherine says ``Sometime I know that I can't win but I go out and try my best. Most of the time I am very surprised by my results."

Jason Searle

JASON Searle (born 11/10/1988) is another all-round athlete who has achieved in many sporting areas. His favourite sports are soccer, athletics and fishing, but he has also experienced success in sailing and other fields. His goal is to play first-grade soccer and his advice to those wanting to achieve is to ``try hard, stay focused".

Olivia Hayes

TWELVE-year-old swimming champion Olivia Hayes learnt to swim when she was only two years old and joined a swimming squad when she was seven. She has now competed at State and Country NSW championships, representing BTAC at HRIS level and was selected for the CIS team. Olivia believes that swimming is a great sport because it keeps you fit and feeling healthy.

Tim Connell

TIM Connell (born 6/2/1987) plays several sports, including rugby league and soccer. He believes ``team sports are great for meeting new people and enjoying yourself". Tim hopes to one day make a career out of his ability and interest in sport. His greatest achievements are playing A-grade soccer and being selected as part of several of BTAC's CIS teams.

Jasmine Trimble

JASMINE Trimble (born 7/3/1989) has been playing competitive sport almost since she was able to walk and does not limit herself to one sport. She lists her greatest sporting achievement as first place in discus at the Pacific Schools Games but she is also very proud of her position as captain of the Newcastle representative netball team for the second year running. Her ambition is to represent Australia at the Olympic Games and states that her favourite thing about sport is that ``there are no limits to what you can achieve if you put your mind to it".

Heath Dowling

HEATH Dowling (born 30/3/1991) is an achiever in his selected sport, swimming. He has represented Bishop Tyrrell Anglican College at CIS level, achieving second place in the 50metre backstroke event. He has been swimming competitively for five years. ``I would recommend swimming because it is fun and everyone needs to be able to swim," he said. ``It is a non-contact sport."

Sam Wells

SAM Wells (born 2/8/1989) has been doing gymnastics for the past 11 years. She represented NSW at the national championships in 2002 and 2003 in levels seven and eight. She has represented BTAC at CIS in 2002, winning two gold and two silver medals. ``I'd recommend gymnastics as there is always something new to learn," Sam said.

Brad Sutherland

BRAD Sutherland (born 19/10/1986) enjoys the competitive nature of sport as well as the social aspects of the games he plays. He plays touch football and soccer, and hopes one day to play professionally for a world-renowned team. His greatest achievements so far have been at state level.
